David Mata is the Director of Quality for Casey Industrial and is based in Denver, Colorado. Casey Industrial was founded in 1947 in Albany, OR with a strong focus on building products. During the 1960s and 70s, their industrial process market evolved from a variety of projects with the Bureau of Mines and many other industries. In 1998, they shifted their headquarters to Colorado and began applying their project management ability, innovative process-related solutions, and skilled work force to construction projects in the power industry.
David Mata joined Casey Industrial in 2016, he is responsible for the ongoing development and execution of the quality system across the organization. With a high focus on implementing technology throughout the quality department, his team has made many advancements in reducing the company’s carbon footprint and taking quality digital. Overcoming the resistance to change, he has successfully implemented tablets and innovative software throughout Casey’s nationwide locations. Whether it be welding, civil, concrete, structural, etc., David Mata’s diverse 25+ years of experience prepared him to improve quality in every area.
Prior to joining Casey, David was a Welding Inspector/Manager for many organizations, including; H.B Zachry, CCC Group, and Black & Veatch Chile. Methodically working his way up from structural, pipe, combo pipe and tube welding positions, allowed him to discover his passion to become a CWI. Being a CWI, permitted him to travel the world as a highly respected welder and inspector. This led David to manage quality departments for a multibillion-dollar project in South America.
David continues to serve on two ACI Quality Committees, one AWS Technical Committee, as well as being professionally associated with ASNT, AWS, ACI, ASME and ASQ. He holds various certifications, and state licenses which including; CWI, CWE, ACCP VT Level II, ACI Grade 1, United States Army Corps of Engineers, Construction Quality Management Certification, South Carolina Contractors’ Licensing Board – Business Management and Law, Pressure and Process Piping.
