Trey Griffith, is the director of quality at Gray. Founded in 1960, Gray has grown to encompass a complementary family of brands designed to augment and enhance each other’s specialized capabilities without gaps or redundancies. Its robust offering—which includes strategy, operational improvements, construction, extensive engineering, automation & controls, and equipment manufacturing—enables Gray to create one-of-a-kind solutions at the highest levels of customization, delivering unmatched precision and partnership to the world’s leading organizations. Consistently ranked among the top five industrial contractors in the U.S., Gray focuses on the following markets for domestic and international customers: Food & Beverage, Manufacturing, Automotive, Distribution, Mission Critical, and Commercial.
Having been with Gray for 22 years, Trey oversees all aspects of the planning, implementation, and communication of Gray’s quality systems and is also responsible for establishing and measuring Gray’s quality metrics. Meeting industry standards is a big part of quality, but at Gray, it’s more than industry standards. It’s meeting customers’ expectations as well. He works closely with Gray’s project leadership, trade partners, suppliers, and vendor teams to ensure conformance to project documents, cost control measures, standards, and work procedures throughout the duration of each project.
Through 10 years of Trey’s direct focus and leadership in quality, his team has advanced the overall program through implementation of real-time auditing using a proprietary mobile auditing system. Within this system, internal and external measurements are created to not only to improve the product for Gray, but to also provide feedback to our trade partners to improve their end products as well. Trey always researches and looks for opportunities to improve Gray’s approach to quality and puts a great emphasis on training and educating others within Gray and the industry to improve quality management.
Prior to joining Gray, Trey worked with his father in their family business in the residential markets. His decades of experience with all trades across the construction field, coupled with analytical thinking and a continuous desire to learn, enables him to be a reliable resource for improving quality.
Apart from Gray, Trey enjoys spending time with his family in the outdoors, hiking, fishing, and other outdoor activities. He enjoys cooking/barbecuing at most of the company functions such as the Site Managers Outing, Gray Family tailgate, Safety luncheons, as well as cooking for his church and family.
