  • Advancing Design Quality Management 2022
January 24 - 26, 2022 - Dallas, TX
The Advancing Design Quality Management 2022 conference is fast approaching!  The CQEC has supported the development of this conference and Jeanette Shaw, Director of Quality and Sustainability at Powers Brown Architecture and CQEC Secretary, will host this industry-leading conference on design quality in construction.  Four CQEC Members will be presenting state-of-the-art best practices in quality used in their companies along with 21 other speakers and presenters.

 Advancing Construction Quality 2021
In-Person Industry Conference - September, 2021

The CQEC sponsored and hosted the fourth annual Advancing Construction Quality conference September 27 - 29, 2021 in Denver, Colorado.  The highly successful conference drew 300 in-person representatives from 139 general contractors, subcontractors, owners, design firms, and software companies from around the country.  Eighteen CQEC members hosted, presented, and participated in technical panel discussions.  The conference included workshops, panel discussions, and presentations by 65 speakers that highlighted the state of the art and science of construction and design quality.

 Advancing Construction Quality 2020
Virtual Interactive Conference - September, 2020

The CQEC sponsored and hosted the third annual Advancing Construction Quality 2020 conference September 21 - 23, 2020 via a virtual interactive conference format in conjunction with Hanson Wade.  In its virtual format, the conference drew 150 representatives from general contractors, subcontractors, owners, and design firms from around the country. 

The conference included workshops, panel discussions, multi-media presentations, virtual interaction and participation, over 60 speakers, and multiple tracks for presentations that highlighted the state of the art of construction and design quality.

Transportation Research Board (TRB) Annual Conference
Washington, D.C., -  January, 2020

The TRB Standing Committee on Quality Assurance Management invited the CQEC to present state-of-the-art concepts for quality management to its committee members. 

CQEC representatives Chad Dorgan (McCarthy Construction), Kate Edwards (Whiting-Turner), Scott West (Granite Construction) and guest Marty McNamara (Granite Construction) led discussions and presented quality concepts for driving a quality culture, project team engagement, information for clients to consider during RFPs, and using data from field operations to manage quality and drive improvement in the field.

Nashville, TN - September, 2019

The CQEC sponsored and hosted the second Advancing Construction Quality Conference in Nashville, TN in September of 2019 in conjunction with ASQ and Hanson Wade.  The conference drew nearly 300 representatives from general contractors, subcontractors, owners, and design firms from around the country. 

The conference built upon its success in 2018 and over the course of 3 days, included workshops, panel discussions, over 50 speakers, and multiple tracks for presentations that highlighted the state of the art of construction and design quality.

Baltimore, MD- September, 2018

The CQEC sponsored and hosted the very first Advancing Construction Quality Conference in Baltimore, MD in September of 2018 in conjunction with ASQ and Hanson Wade.  The conference drew nearly 200 representatives from general contractors, subcontractors, owners, and design firms from around the country. 

Over the course of 3 days, the conference included workshops, panel discussions, 35 speakers, and presentations that highlighted the state of the art of construction and design quality.
